Tread softly as you enter this delightful picnic area, you could just disturb the forest fairies! If you’re looking for the ideal picnic spot under lush trees and close to a “big tree”, this is it. Ample forest tables to choose from, toilets, water, wheel chair accessible. The short 2km hike is very inviting and even possible for the elderly to do. Stand in wonder at trees with gnarled trunks that seem to have been there since the beginning of time. To be in a hurry is not the way to do this one. Bring the kids, they’ll have hours of fun playing in the cool forest stream.

Directions: From the N2 take the Hoekwill turnoff just outside Wilderness (Knysna side), this road becomes the old Knysna-George road, follow it to the turnoff to the picnic site on the left, about 16km in total from Wilderness.
